My name is Emily K. Jacobs, and I am the proud owner of Furniture ReDesigned! We are a Pennsylvania based business that specializes in repurposing used furniture. I have always been creative and had a passion for design work.
 

I decided to start my own business for a few reasons. After nearly 40 years working in Corporate America I was laid off while on family medical leave to assist my husband during a trying medical time in his life.  This opened the door to exploring my creative passions all while being able to be there for my husband when he needed me.

I love working with my hands and being creative, so I got to work on repurposing and redesigning used furniture to breathe new life into those pieces no one wanted anymore. I began by scouring thrift stores, garage sales, and online marketplaces to find high-quality pieces that had the potential to be transformed.

With a keen eye for design and a knack for working with my hands, I began the process of transforming these pieces using a variety of techniques.  I can give each piece a completely new look with the use of paint, stain, stenciling, new hardware and sometimes by adding or changing the legs.

As my business grows, I am attracting more and more very satisfied clients who appreciate the uniqueness and sustainability of my work. I am also thrilled to see the positive impact my business is having on the environment, as well as the joy it brings to my clients when they see their beloved but worn-out furniture transformed into something beautiful and new.
